The bar chart illustrates the proportion of adults who were overweight or obese (too fat or much too fat) in a country from 1965 to 2015.
As we can see, the percentage of people who are overweight increased progressively in the bar chart. Whereas the pie chart revealed that in 2015, there were over 70% of adults who were too heavy.
With regards to the bar chart, there was a slightly upward trend in the period of the first 3 decades, approximately 50%. The first significant rise occurred between 1985 to 2005, from around 48% to over 70%. By 2015, a little bit less than 80% of people weighed too much.
According to the pie chart, the weight range of the adult population in 2015 accounted for over 70% of adults who were overweight, obese, and severely obese. While there was only a third of people who were healthy or underweight in the pie chart in 2015.
