Overall, the most striking when looking at the data is that the average gas price experienced an upward trend from 2005 to 2008, then drop out in 2009 and dramatically increased in the end of the period. In addition, 2011 was the year recorded the highest average gas price.
In 2005, the cost of fuel was 2.27 dollars, and it gradually increased to 2.57 dollars by the next year. In 2007, the average gas price slightly decreased 0.7 dollars before experienced the most significant increase, rising to 3.25 dollars by 2008.
After that, the price of fuel dropped out to 2.35 dollars by 2009, then slightly increased to 2.78 dollars 2010. At the end of the period, the cost of fuel reached at 3.52 dollars and it was the highest price over the period.
