The diagram displays type of media used to receive everyday updates, by different age sets in 2011.
Overall, it is clear that young people mostly use social networking to receive news unlike the old generation which get news through listening radio. On the other hand, microblogging remained relevantly same in all age sets as it was not widely used.
To start with, it can be seen that, social net working is the most method of media used by young people of age group 10 to 19 at 80% of them used it, but as age progresses the popularity decreases to 50% at the age of 30 to 49. Individuals of 65 plus years show least percentage of using social networking as a way of getting updates by almost slightly above 20%.
Consequently, radio remained the most used media to get news across all the individuals regardless of the age, 40% of persons of ages 10 to 17 listened to radio. This trend incresed to 90% for ages 18 to 29 and remained between 80% and 90% in the subsequent age groups. In addition, microblogging remained uncommon in all age sets with a rate of between 10% to 30% approximately.
