Overall, Paris had the longest route ever made in 1863 whereas, Lisbon has the highest number of passenger throughout the year. However Madrid had been lowest throught the year in term of both route and annual passenger.
To begin with, the oldest railways system which is build in Paris which is 394 kilometer long and had around 775 millions passgers annually. Madrid had the shortest route covering only 11 kilometer and only have near 45 million passengers in 1981.
Morever, in 1927 Lisbon railway serves approximately 1927 million passengers per year which had only 155 km long in length. Likewise, Stockholm is about 199 km long and have around 1191 passenger in 1990 per year. Quite similar to Madrid, Berlin also had the smallest route around 28 km and serves 50 million passengers per annual in 2001. With near 126 kilometer long route Rome railways system had only 144 million passengers annually.
