The graphs demonstrate the proportion of men and women that have time for entertainment in life, along with the ratio of male and female visitors of various activities.
Overall, the difference of the number of males and females enjoying leisure time had been declining from 1996 to 2006, with more females getting to have spare time while fewer males able to do so. What’s more, in 2006, women were most fond of going to the beach. However, the most popular activity at the year for men was to hang out in pop centers.
Starting in 1996, around 84% of males had time for pleasure in their lives, which was nearly twice of the proportion of women (40%) who had leisure time. Five years later, there were a decrease of about 4% in percentage of males and an increase of 10% in females. Finally, the gap (10%) between the females and males was the smallest in 2006, respectively being 60% and 70%.
According to the second chart, the place in 2006 that was particularly attractive for females yet unpopular among males was the cinema, as only 10% of males would like to visit the place while 25% of females visited it. At the same time, pop center was the place where most males went to that was boring to females. This can be seen from the percentages of male and female visitors of it: 30% of males chose to pay a visit yet only 15% of females went there. Beach was frequently visited by both males (25%) and females (30%). In addition, there were similar proportion of male and female visitors in museums and KTV, respectively around 20% and 14%.
