The given bar charts illustrate information on the widespread presence of obesity among teenage boys and girls by their racial types in US between 2004 and 2014.
Overall, there were three races : Non-Hispanic White, Non-Hispanic Black and Hispanic. Obesity was the most common among Hispanic boys. Up for the other gender, Non-Hispanic females had the highest rate of obesity. Moreover, the obesity percentage saw an increase in all races in the given period.
To start with, the top two races regarding the obesity levels were Hispanic and Non-Hispanic black. Hispanic boys accounted for 13% obesity in 2004 which then increased to 27 % up until 2014. Non- Hispanic black females’ figure increased by 13%, from 16 % in 2004 to 29% in 2014.
If the rest racial types are concerned, the fluctuations they experienced
ranged between 9 % and 29 %. The figures of Non-Hispanic White males and Hispanic females were the same, being 12 % at the beginning and finishing with 17%. Non-Hispanic white girls’ percentage grew only by 5 percent, from 9 % to 14 % in the given period.
