The bar chart compares the number of mobile phones sold globally by three renowned companies between 2010 and 2020, and the table gives information about the most popular mobile phone features over the same period.
It is clear that the sales of mobile phones changed considerably from 2010 to 2020. It is also noticeable that the highest percentage of people used mobile phones for making calls and sending or receiving texts over the 10-year period.
In terms of the bar chart, Nokia sold the highest number of mobile phones in 2010, at 14 million, while the figures for Samsung and Xiaomi were 10 million and almost 8 million, respectively. Over the following 10 years, the sales figures for Samsung and Xiaomi rose steadily, but Nokia saw a significant fall, reaching 8 million in sales over the period.
According to the table, nearly 100% of people used mobile phones for making calls, which was almost double the percentage of those who used them to send or receive texts. In the same year, taking photos was the second most popular mobile phone feature, at 70%. During the period from 2010 to 2020, the percentages of people who used cell phones to take photos and for text messaging increased from 70% and 50% to 89% and 95%, respectively. Making calls, on the other hand, was the only mobile phone feature that decreased slightly, by 9% over the 10-year period.
