Looking at the higher figures at first, in 2000, Norway was a leading country in using renewable energy of total supply, representing about 61%, closely followed by Iceland at approximately 51%. The former then showed a noticeably increase of 20%, while the proportion of renewable energy of the total supply in Iceland increased 55% in 2007.
In contrast, Germany ranked third in this category with around 10 %. Australia showed small percentage in using renewable energy, at about 8% in 20003. The proportion of renewable energy of total supply in Germany rose 18% in 2007. Despite the growth in 2004, The proportion of renewable energy in Australia was relatively unchanged after 3 years.
