Overall, while the proportion of renewable energy of total supply in Germany, Norway and Iceland increased, that for Australia virtually remained stable. The figures for Norway were always highest, seeing the biggest change.
Focusing on the higher figures first, the proportion of renewable energy of Norway’s total supply stood at over 60% in 2000, followed by a dramatic rise to almost 77% in the final year. Starting at nearly 53% in 2000, the percentage of renewable energy of total energy in Iceland climbed significantly to under 60%, after which it decreased slightly to over 55% in 2007.
As for smaller figures, the percentage of renewable energy in Germany accounted for nearly 13% of its total energy in the beginning, a figure that then increased consistently to roughly 17% in 2007. The proportion of Australia’s renewable energy in its total energy started at approximately 8% in 2000. After going up to over 10% in 2004, it practically dropped to its rate in 2000 in the end.
