The bar graph demonstrates information about the number of library books borrowed from Lammertown Public Library in 1991 and 2001, and the pie chart illustrates the library’s memberships – women and men – in 2001.
Overall, the Lammertown Public Library is popular between females and males. The seven types of books were popular, especially romance stories, while the least popular option was language books. Moreover, females who borrowed and were interested in reading were more than males. And over one decade, these changes did not differ significantly.
In 1991, romance books borrowed increased from 1000 to 1400 in 2001, while the second most popular option soared by 210 to 1000 borrowed books. At this time, other paperbacks were generally popular except for children’s fiction, which decreased dramatically from 700 to 370 books. Nevertheless, the remaining books almost all increased but did not achieve the popularity of the first option; therefore, romance remained dominant and peaked dramatically unlike the others.
In summary, of the books which were borrowed and returned, more than half were borrowed by women, with 68%, while men accounted for 32%.
