The two bar charts compare data about the proportion of four types of films released and total tickets sold in 1996 and 2006 in a particular country of Europe.
Overall, the percentage share of drama output made up the largest figures in both years, while the romance accounted for the samallest. In terms of tickets, comedy had by far the highest proportion, whereas the romance ranked least.
Looking at the realeases, drama accounted for around 34% in 2006, making it 4% less than in 1996, at 30%. Comedy came next, in 2006, it was marginally higher than in 1996, accounting for 25% and 20%, respectively. The percentages of fantasy was almost as prevalent as romance, at around 5% in both categories.
Turning to the overall ticket figures, comedy had by far the largest figure in 2006 (25%), which was negligibly less than in 1996 (23%). Fantasy was at approximately 23% in 2006, while in 1996, it was at roughly 12%. Drama accounted for nearly the same percentage in each of the two years, at about 13%, as opposed to the romance, which was at 8% in 1996 and 6% in 2006.
