The barchart illustrates the percentage of business in industry of Canada that are engaged in purchasing of ecommerce between 2015 to 2019. The industries that are shown in chart are manufacturing, construction, wholesale, retail, information and communication.
Overall, the proportion of business while using ecommerce increased in all sector during the five years. The information and communication sector consistently increased retail remained the lowest throughout.
Furthermore, In 2015 the information and communication department had around 60% and in 2019 it is about 70%. Similarly retail sector also experienced steady growth climbing from around 30% to approximately 60%. Wholesale sector also saw a notable increase from 40% to roundabout 60%. Construction department also started at about 25% and ended up at around 55% in 2019. The manufacturing department also rose from 30% to 60%.
In conclusion, while all industries in Canada saw a rise in e-commerce from 2015 to 2019, the information and communication department were on lead and retail lagged behind the other sectors.
