The bar chart demonstrates the proportion of people divided in three diffirent groups (men, women, children) who consumed five portions of fruit and vegetables on a daily basis, over eight year period from 2001 to 2008.
Overall, women have eaten the most quantity of exact products through the years, whereas men have added these products in their diet not that actively. Besides, children were the category, who consumed lowest percentage of food given.
Initially, in 2001, women’s percentage accounted for 20% and rose gradually until 2006, when peak of about 30 percent was reached. Despite, this positive trend, figures slightly fall to 28% by the end of the period. Furthermore, men began at 17% roughly and kept this level unchanged for 3 years, before portions started to grow in 2004 and steadily climbed to 27 percent. Although, this group experienced increase in following years, by 2008 percentage fell again.
Finally, the proportion of children who consumed fruit and vegetable five times per day stood at around 12 % in 2001 and went up moderately to 24% by 2007, until falling slightly again in 2008 by around 22 percent.
