The char shows data on different age groups who participated a gym once a month or more in european countries from 1990 to 2010.
Overall, four groups experienced an increase in the percentage of gym go-er between 1990 and 2010. Additionally, people from 18 – 24 recored the highest in gym attendance through the period. People aged 45 and over were the lowest in gym attendance.
In 1990, people in the age groups aged18 – 24 and 25 – 34 stood at roughly 7% and 8% respectively. People aged 25 – 34 experienced steady and continued growth through the period, reaching a peak in 2010 at 51%. People aged 18 – 24 rose significantly from 1998 onwards, surpassing the group aged 25 – 34 around 2002 at 46% before peaking at 58% at 2006 and maintaining that level throught to the end of period.In 1990, people in the age groups of aged 35 – 45 and 45+ were recorded 5% and 3% respectively. People aged 35 – 45 grew steady from 1990 to 2006, before rasing sharply from 22% in 2006 to 40% in 2010. Meanwhile, group of people aged 45 and more experienced a growth at slower rate, reaching rough 22% in 2010.
