Opposition to that, although firefighters were put in the greatest working hours per wee, at 55 hours, their income was lower than that of underground drivers, with the starting salary stood at about 40,000 pounds and then increased to nearly 42,000 pounds after three years at work.
Nurses earned the least income at 17,000 pounds at first, then it increased to 19,000 pounds after three years. The starting wage and wage after three years for police officers remained relatively static, at roughly 22,000 pounds. The average working hours per week that nurses spent was lower than the figure for police officers, at 38 hours and 40 hours respectively. Although teachers had the same weekly hours at work with firefighters, at 55 hours, teachers received a lower starting income at 31,000 pounds and it climbed to 33,000 pounds at the end of three years.
