The image contains two graphs about the number of participants in the Olympics. The first graph shows a comparison of male and female participants in the years 1924, 1952, 1984, and 2012. In 1924, there were approximately 5,000 males (blue bar) and no females (green bar) participating. 1952 saw an increase to 6,000 males and around 500 females. 1984 showed a small decrease in male participants to about 5,800 and an increase in female participants to around 1,500. In 2012, male participants decreased to around 5,500, while female participants increased significantly to around 5,300. The second graph depicts the total number of participants over the same years, showing an upward trend from 2,000 in 1924, 4,000 in 1952, 8,000 in 1984, to 11,000 in 2012. Both graphs use solid lines to define the axes and have the year labeled along the X-axis and the number of participants on the Y-axis.

There are two datasets related to the participants of olympics since it began. The bar chart has indicated the number of male and female participants and bar chart only shows the participants over the years.
As it is shown in the bar chart the number of male participants was significantly higher than females during the first 50 years, however the number of females participants had a gradual up rise. The dramatic rise of female athletes in olympics has taken place during 2012 with almost 5000 participants which is about 1000 participants less than male athletes. In contrast the number of male participants has not changed significantly since beginning. It just shows almost 50% growth in number of participants, it is way less than females which had almost 90% increase.
According to the line graph the number of participants has increased gradually since 1924. The olympics has began with almost 3000 players and the number of participants has grown approximately 2000 in every 30years.
In conclusion the number of participants has increased sharply since 1924. This is particularly significant for women who are represented at almost same number of participants as males.
