In 1924, there were approximately 5,000 males (blue bar) and no females (green bar) participating. 1952 saw an increase to 6,000 males and around 500 females. 1984 showed a small decrease in male participants to about 5,800 and an increase in female participants to around 1,500. Looking at the line graph, it illustrates how many participators have enrolled in the Olympics since it commenced. The bar chart on the other hand, demonstrate the number of either men or women who took part in the Olympics during selected years since 1924 to 2012.

Based on bar chart the number of men who took part in the Olympics has soared consistently since 1924. However, the figure of women was almost nothing compared to men. But in 1984 to 2012 it went up sharply from just under 2000 members to around 4800.In each year, the number of men was more than the women especially in 1924 and 1952.
