The given table shows the average number of minutes per day that men and women spent on leisure activities, while the bar graph illustrates the time allocated on household activities in the UK in 2008. Overall, it can be seen that men spent more time on entertainment activities, whereas women devoted significantly more time to domestic chores.
According to the table, men and women devoted the largest amount of time watching TV, videos, and listening to the radio, accounting for 137 and 118 minutes per day respectively. Although both genders spent almost the same amount of time reading, made up 18 minutes for men and 19 minutes for women. Regarding sport activities, men spent 15 minutes, while women 11 minutes per day.
As is presented in graph, women allocated the greatest amount of time on cooking and washing, accounting for more than an hour per day, meanwhile, men allocated about half an hour on these activities. Furthermore, women spent more than half an hour shopping and washing clothes, in contrast, men shopping slightly less than women, but for washing and ironing clothes they spent less than 20 minutes a day. However, the men participated in repairing thing, accounting for almost 20 minutes, while women less then 15 minutes.
