The line graph illustrates how many people engaged in five different works – sales, accounting, computing, nursing, and farming – in a specific region in Australia in 2001 and 2008. Overall, sales was the most preferred work among the others in both periods, while farming was recognized as the least preferred work among other works in both years. Also, rest types of the works showed almost equal numbers in both years.
Regarding sales and farming, they both showed an opposite figure. The former maintained a significant lead over the period, it was under 160,000 initially, increased to more than 160,000 in 2008, while the latter was the lowest over the period, in contrast, it saw a minimal decline from around 21,000 to about 19,000 between 2001 and 2008.
As for other preferred works, accounting almost remained steady, with an average 60,000. Interestingly, computing and nursing experienced a similar pattern with rising slightly, the former was approximately 50,000 in 2001, rose to about more than 60,000 in 2008, while the latter was nearly equal with the former in 2001, it went up almost 60,000 in the second year.
