The bar chart compares the amount of money, measured in billions of euros, that five organisations allocated to four different areas: machinery, buildings, staff training, and research.
Overall, Organisation B was the dominant investor, particularly in staff training, while Organisation D consistently recorded the lowest figures. In addition, spending on buildings represented a major area of investment for most organisations.
Organisation A invested just under 1.5 billion euros in buildings, making it the largest share of its budget, while the amounts for machinery, staff training, and research ranged between 1.0 and 1.2 billion. By contrast, Organisation B recorded the highest overall spending, allocating almost 1.9 billion to staff training alone, as well as 1.7 billion to research and 1.4 billion to buildings. Its machinery expenditure, however, was the lowest of its four categories, at just under 1 billion.
Organisation C’s investment was more evenly distributed, with around 1.2 to 1.3 billion devoted to each category, though spending on staff training and research slightly exceeded that on machinery and buildings. In comparison, Organisation D spent significantly less overall, with each figure falling below 1 billion, and its lowest allocation, roughly 0.6 billion, going to research. Finally, Organisation E invested approximately 1 billion in buildings, slightly less in staff training and machinery, and the smallest proportion, around 0.7 billion, in research.
In summary, Organisation B was by far the biggest spender, particularly on staff training, whereas Organisation D lagged behind the others across all categories, with research attracting the least funding overall.
