The bar chart shows the comparison between the amount of money on which needs that families have spent on average in 1968 and 2018. Base on this chart, families have paid most of their income on personal needs in the year 1968. However in the second year, the average cost of other needs is higher than in 1968.
Compared to 1968, the average amount of money which has spent on some essential needs like food, has reduced noticeablly from 35 per cent of weekly income to nearly half of itself, 15 per cent. The same trend has happend to other costs including clothing and footware, fuel and power and personal goods. On other sectors it is the opposite senario. In the year 2018, families has spent more than they use to on trasportation for instance which is double of the amount of money that spent on in 1968. It is clear that in 2018, families showed more interest in leisure activies than before and spent 22 per cent of their weekly income on this need particularly. additionally, the cost of housing got increased in 2018 and familes has spent twich as much as they spent in 1968. On the other hand, household cost stayed the same in both years.
