The diagram below illustrates data about the percentage of citizens housed in UK in ages from 25 to 34 between 2004 and 2014.
The share of people that own a house was large in the beginning of 2004, precisely of nearly 60%. Throuhout the next years it was undergoing a gradual fall, resulting in under a 40 percent by the end of the time frame.
The proportion of renters accounted for 20% at the beginning of the period, then it rose to almost 50% in 2014. The difference in the percentages of two groups of people declined from almost 40% in 2004 to nearly 10% in 2014, showing higher figures for renters instead of homeowners as in the beginning.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that the majority of people were homeowners, however over the period this trend declined. Meanwhile, the proportion of people who rented accomodation showed an upward trend.
