The provided flow chart shows data about the age of women’s in Australia when they gave birth to their first born in three period (1966,1986, and 2006)
At the first glance, it is clear that women aged from 19-24 years old were at the highest rate of just over 60% in 1966. But the rate dropped rapidly to almost a half in 1986 and then later it fell to nearly 30% in 2006. The same goes with women who are under 19. The rate started with the second highest (more than 30%) in 1966. However, the rate hit rock bottom with roughly 15% in 2006.
While the 25-30 age range dominated the period of 1986 with exactly 50% rate of giving birth to their first child, women aged from 30-34 years became the first age group among the others in 2006. Moreover, the graph shows that the 34-39 age range had the best rate in 1986 than two other years. Lastly, over 40 remained the lowest compared to other age groups throughout the period.
