The data given in the chart illustrates the reasons travellers visited five cities of the UK in the year 2013.
Edinburgh, London and Liverpool were the most famous destinations for sightseeing with around 67%, 50% and 32% of visitors attending them mostly for a holiday. Opposite to this, Birmingham and Manchester were favourite places for business trips with roughly 48% and 27% of people getting to these cities for such purposes.
Not to mention, attenders enjoyed sharing their time with beloved ones, that is why percentage of people visiting friend of relatives in all of the cities is rather high – about 20%. Nevertheless, miscellaneous reasons were quite low in most of the areas, except Manchester and Liverpool – which could be connected with the fact that these places are so-called capitals of English football, so people visited them for relaxing and dedicating time to their hobby.
To sum up, visitors prefer to explore new places mostly for holidays and business purposes, whereas spending time with family and friends and other different reasons hold lower position.
