Overall, the most generous groups were those aged 35 to 49 and 50 to 64, while people aged 18 to 34 made the lowest proportion of donations in both years. The most significant decline in donations was observed in the youngest age group.
In 2000, the highest percentage of donors came from the middle-aged group, at just under 40%. The two older groups, aged 50 to 64 and 65 and over, showed similar donation levels, at around 34% and 32% respectively, whereas the youngest group contributed considerably less.
In 2015, the largest proportion of donors was among people aged 50 to 64. Compared with 2000, this group showed a slight increase in donations, reaching approximately 35%. By contrast, the youngest group, aged 18 to 24, experienced a significant decline, with the percentage of donors falling to around 11%, almost half of its earlier figure.
