The line chart illustrates the emitted amount of acid rain from four various areas in the period of 17 years, from 1990 to 2007, in UK.

It can be seen from the chart that amount of acid rain from most of the areas have declined significantly by the time of 2007. Whereas the value even reached up to nearly 3.5 million tonnes in 1990, all emissions were under 1.5 millions in 2007.

The electricity, gas, and water supply areas took the lead as the most acid rain emitter with over 3 million tonnes in 1990, but it went down sharply to 0.5 million tonnes in 2007. In contrast, the other industries also decreased gradually, however it produced less acid rain compared to the electricity, gas, and water supply. By the time of 2007, it became the top acid rain emitter with over 1 million tonnes among other sectors.

The transport and communication sector emitted over 0.5 million tonnes of acid rain in 1990 and increased minimally until the year of 2005, with nearly 1 million tonnes. Afterwards, it dropped down instantly to below 1 million in 2007. Surprisingly, the domestic area produced the least amount of acid rain through the whole time, only peaked at 0.5 millions in the early 90s.
