The three pie charts provide information about the proportion of various types of books which were sold by a bookseller in 1972 and 2012.
It can be clearly seen that the category of adult fiction books increased steadily over the 40-year period, while the format of travel books was showing a decrease by 2012.
In 1972, adult fiction and children’s literature groups were on the same rate with 20% for both, and also biography followed closely behind them. Moreover, in 2012, the segment of adult novels had the highest level, reaching 45%, which was almost timeless compared with its previous years. In contrast, the category of other types of books reached the high proportion in 1972, but later it started to decline, beginning with 25% and ending with 12% in 2012
When it comes to 1992, there was a rise in the travel section, counting for 18% while the biography began to reduce with 15% from 20%. The categories which were called adult biography and travel were becoming increasingly less common over the years.
