The line graph provides information about the technique of waste disposal in a specific European country between 2005 and 2008. Overall, it is clear that in the first two years, landfill was the most favoured, while in the final year dumping in sea became the most preferred method. Additionally, burning technique observed a fluctuation throughout the period.
Looking firstly at landfill waste disposal, in 2005 the figure peaked at 2000 tonnes, which then plunged to nearly 1600 tonnes in 2006 and continuing to decrease to above 1200 tonnes in 2008. By contrast, in the first year, the amount of waste which was dumped in sea was roughly 1200 tonnes before rising to around 1400 tonnes in the next year. By the end of the year 2008, it reached 1700 tonnes.
In terms of the amount of burning waste, there was around 900 tonnes in 2005, which was lower than other methods. Then, in 2006, the figure rose to approximately 1200 tonnes before dropping to around 800 tonnes in 2008, marking its lowest point through the period.
