The two given line graphs illustrate the proportion of households owning electrical appliances, and the number of hours spent on doing chores such as washing clothes, preparing meals and cleaning in a particular country from 1920 to 2019.
Overall, all electrical appliances gained in popularity within the country, and the percentage of households with refrigerator and vacuun cleanner, despite being the lowest figure at the beginning, were highest at the end of the period. Additionally, there was a significant decrease in the number of hours spent doing houseworks per week in the same period.
Regarding the first graph, there were just a few refrigerator owners in 1920, then the percentage increased dramatically to reach a peak of 100% by 1980, and levelled off until 2019. Similarly, starting at about 30% at the beginning of the period, the percentage of vacuum cleanner owners witnessed a significant surge to 100% by 2000 before levelling off at the end of the period. Having the highest proportion at 40% in 1920, but the percentage of washing machiene owners witnessed a fluctuating period before reaching about 75% in 2019.
As regards the table, the amount of time spent on houseworks started at 50 hours per week in 1920. The figure then fell sharply by 30 hours forty years later and continued to decline gradually to around 10 hours a week by the end of the period.
