Overall, the percentage of food budget spent on restaurant meals has dramatically increased by years, which started in 1970 with the lowest share, and by 2000 it has the same percentage as home cooking. Moreover, the number of fastfood meals has a significant grow by years, while sitdown restaurant meals number slowly go up.
At first years food costs on restaurant meals had the lowest percentage 10%, and in the 1980 it grew gradually to 15%, while home cooking percentage was between 90-85%. However in 1990 it increased notably enough to 35%. Furthermore, in 2000 it matched with home cooking and shows the same result.
