The bar chart illustrates the information regarding the usage of tele-communications measured in minutes in the UK based on three different modes of communication namely, local-landline, mobiles, and national & international- landline across 9 years. Overall, it can be vividly seen that the local land-line dominated the field of tele-communication over a decade. However, there is an upward trend noted in the usage of mobiles, and national & international- landline.
It can be observed that the usage of mobile phones for calls was almost zero in the year 1995. However, calls made through mobiles had increased in the following years. It progressively raised up to 10000 million minutes at the end of the year 2004. A similar trend was noted in the usage of national and international-landline. Initially in the year 1995, people only talked for 6000 million minutes through national and internation landline. In 2004, the usage exceeded to more than 10000 million minutes.
Probing towards the rest of the information, although the local land line usage was prominent in the given period of time, its usage had decreased towards the end of the decade. Initially there was an upward trend noted until the year 2001, where it reached a peak of 16000 million minutes of calls followed by a drastic down fall over the next 3 years. By the end of 2004, the usage of local landlines was limited to only 12000 million minutes.
