The pie charts compare the proportions of different types of energy production in France between 1995 and 2005.
Overall, coal remained the most significant source of energy over the decade. While gas maintained its position, petrol saw a noticeable decline, whereas nuclear and other energy sources increased in their share of production.
In 1995, coal and gas were the dominant energy sources, accounting for 29.80% and 29.63% respectively, making up more than half of the total energy production. Over the next 10 years, both sources experienced a slight rise, with each surpassing 30% by 2005.
Petrol, which held the third-largest share at 29.27% in 1995, dropped significantly to 19.55% in 2005. On the other hand, nuclear and other energy sources, which were the smallest contributors in 1995 with a combined share of around 10%, saw growth. By 2005, nuclear accounted for 10.10%, while other sources increased to 9.10%
