The given columns depict a multitude of ways waste was disposed in a selected European nation, namely landfill, burning, and dumping in sea between 2005 and 2008.
In general, it can be seen that burning method always occupied the smallest segment. Moreover, although landfill experieced a gradual decrease and sea-dumping faced a steady increase, the amount of waste burned still remained in the period of three years.
Looking at the graph in more details, it can be seen that in 2005, 2000 million tonnes of waste was buried. Concurrently, only 1600 and 1200 tonnes of rubbish was disposed by this method in 2006 and 2008 respectively. On the other hand, there was a growing trend of dumping trash in sea. It was recorded that in 2005, only 1200 tonnes of trash was disposed into marinal ecosysterm. Unfortunately, this figure rised to 1400 tonnes in 2006 before reach its peak at 1600 tonnes in 2008.
It is considerable that the amount of burning waste witnessed a fluctuation. Starting at 900 tonnes in 2005, the amount of waste diposed by burning climbed up marginally to nearly 1200 tonnes in 2006 before dipped into its exact starting point in the end of the period.
