Overall, the largest amount of money was spent on social security, while industry, agriculture and employment received the smallest share of the budget. It is also clear that spending on health and education was much higher than on most other sectors.
Looking at the biggest categories, social security received AED 100 billion, which was by far the highest figure. Health and personal social sevices was the second largest sector, with AED 53 billion. The government also spent a significant amount on education, which accounted for AED 38, in comparison, debt interest received AED 23 billion, while defence was allocated AED 22 billion and transport AED 9.
Among the remaining sectors, law and order received AED 17 billion, housing, heritage, and environment was allocated AED 15 billion, and industry, agriculture, and employment accounted for AED 13 billion. Other expenditure, including unspecified items, amounted to AED 23 billion.
