The largest share of the budget went to social security, which accounted for AED 100 billion. This was followed by health and personal social services, at AED 53 billion. Spending on education was also high, with the government allocating AED 38 billion to this sector.
In comparison, defence and other expenditures were both AED 22 to 23 billion, while housing, heritage and environment received AED 15 billion. A smaller amount was spent on industry, agriculture and employment at AED 13 billion, and law and order at AED 17 billion. The lowest spending was on transport, which was only AED 9 billion.
