Overall, it can be seen that in the first five years of the given period, three cities namely, Tokyo, London, and New York witnessed a decrease in the price of houses, while in the following five years, only Tokyo experienced a decline.
In detail, from 1990 to 1995, Frankfurt and Madrid generally witnessed an upward of around 3%, while Tokyo and London declined more than 5 per cent. In the meantime, accommodation prices decreased by 5% in New York.
In the following five years, compared to the last five years, the cost of places in New York increased 10%, which raised to 5% more expensive than in 1989. Furthermore, the UK average price of houses rose sharply to 10%; however, Tokyo accommodation costs remained 5% cheaper than it was in 1989
