The line chart gives information about the percentage of individuals of different age groups who went to the gym once a month or more in Europe from 1990 to 2010.
Overall, the proportion of European people of different age groups increased steadily. While, the figure for the 45 and over age group going to the gym was lowest during the period.
In 1990, the proportion of individuals who went to the gym at groups 18-24 stood at around 8%, 6% higher than that the figure for people in 45 and over age groups. The proportion of people in 18-24 age groups increased significantly from 8% to 58%, before declining slightly to around 50% in 2006. Meanwhile, the figure for people saw a slight rise of 58% in 2010. The figure for people who saw a significant increase from 3% to 21% between 1990 and 2010.
The percentage of individuals in 25-34 age groups stood at over 9%, 1% higher than that the figure for 35 – 44 age groups. A significant growth from 8% to 50% was seen in Europe between 1990 and 2010. Likewise, the proportion of people hitting the gym at 35-44 age groups increased significantly from 7% to 40% between 1990 and 2010.
