The bar chart gives information about the number of male and female students majoring in six different subjects in an American university in 2010.
Overall, it can be seen that the number of male and female students studying Finance in the examined university was higher than other categories. By contrast, the least popular major among both genders was Engineering.
To be more specific, Finance was the most popular major among both sexes, with figures being about 230 students. Meanwhile, the number of females choosing Accounting and Marketing, stood at 200 students and about 120 students respectively, was higher than the figure for males studying them, at around 170 students and nearly 80 students correspondingly.
Regarding the remaining majors, more than 50 female students majoring in Mathematics, compared to 200 male students learning this major. In addition, Economics was chosen by 150 males, which was almost twice as many as the figure for female students. Engineering was the least attractive major, with figures being approximately 50 students from each gender.
