Overall, it is clear that while the using of kitchen and bathroom accounted of the largest percentage of both years, however the kitchen outpaced the bathroom of the final year. In addition, the garden surpassed the toilet with the lowest water usage by 2008.
In 1988, bathroom consumption stood at highest point at 25%, but two decades later, it increased to 29%, and becoming the second largest consumption. In contrast, the figure out the kitchen doubled from 15% to 30%, and it reached peak by 2008.
Looking at other categories, the percentage of garden plummeted from 20% in 1988 to 8 % in 2008. Similarly,the figure for washing machines declined gradually from 22% to 19%. Finally the water consumption of toilets slightly went down from 18% to 14% over the 20 year period.
