The bar chart discusses the number of hours per week spent by teenagers on 7 different pastime activities in the city of Chester in the UK between the years of 2002 and 2007.
Overall, the bar illustrates the change spent on each activity; some increased in time from 2002 to 2007 (going to pubs/discos, watching television and shopping) meanwhile others decreased (doing homework, doing sports and bowling), whereas watching DVDs followed a peculiar pattern of peaking in 2004 and decreasing afterwards until reaching the minimum in 2007.
Watching television was the dominant pastime activity; it started at 25 hours per week in 2002 and increased steadily reaching more than 35 hours per week in 2007. Going to pubs/discos came second in 2007 and shopping came third with 17 and 15 hours per week respectively after an increase over that period.
Bowling was the least frequent activity with close to 1 hour per week preceded by doing sports and homework which accumulated to around 10 hours per week together. doing sports suffered the most considerable decrease from 10 to merely 2 hours per week.
