The bar graph illustrates certain periods of age that men and women started to suffer from hearing loss in the USA.
Overall, the proportion of age starting hearing loss in both males and females witnessed a significant growth in the first half of the period, while saw opposite patterns in the latter half of the period. Additionally, the figure for males at the age of 40-59 was the highest figure throughout the bar chart.
The percentage of men’s hearing loss at the age of 5 and under accounted for approximately 3%, with a considerable rise to over 10% in a number of 6-19 year-old men. The figure for males increased dramatically to around 32% in the age group of 20-39, after which it rose mildly by nearly 2% to 34% in men who are 40-59 years old, reaching the peak of the statistics. The beginning stage of hearing loss appearing at the age of 60-69 and 70 onwards in males took up approximately 13% and 8% respectively,which was considered a rapid drop.
Whereas the figure for women started at over 3% at the age of 5 and under, followed by a gradual increase to more than 31% at the age of 40-59. It experienced a remarkable decline to nearly 18% when the age of women reached 60-69, with mild fluctuation to around 17% at the age of 70 and over.
