The bar chart illustrates the hours of leisure time per week based on sex and working status.
Overall, many variations in leisure time are evident between different employment statuses and sexes. However, males and females show similar leisure times, with males having more leisure time, except for part-time employees; and, of course, housewives are only female.
According to the chart, people with the highest amounts of leisure time are unemployed and retired people. Males’ leisure time is about the same in both statuses, just over eighty hours. Similarly, females in both statuses have almost the same number of hours, around seventy hours in a typical week.
Turning to employment statuses with the lowest leisure time, male part-time employees have zero hours per week; that is shocking. Female full-time employees have the lowest number of hours of leisure time per week, around 35 hours in a typical week.
