Overall, it can clearly be seen that the total number of hours worked by married women in both paid and unpaid labour is higher than the total number of hours worked by employed men in marriage inside and outside the home.
The proportion of average time worked by husbands aged 24 to 44 in paid employment is slightly higher than the time worked by wives of the same age in paid occupation. However, hours worked by married men in the age of 24 to 44 doing unpaid labour are significantly less in comparison with hours worked by married women in the similar unpaid chores.
Looking at the remaining part of the chart below, it is noticeable that husbands aged 45 to 64 work slightly more hours per day in paid employment than wives of the same age do. By contrast, married women work greater number of hours doing unpaid labour compared to married men of the similar age working inside the home.
In conclusion, according to the graph below married men work slightly more in paid employment while women on the opposite spend a significant number of hours for doing household chores.
