Overall, there was an increase in the amount of time commuters travelled to work in all city listed. Additionally, Sydney residents experienced the highest figure over the period shown.
In 2002, Sydney residents spent average 35 minutes for transporting to work( the highest figure among 4 cities). This figure then saw a marginal rise to approximately 39 minutes in 2008, before witnessing a slight decrease to about 37 minutes in the last year.Conversely, Adelaide worker spent the least time on transporting, at only less than 25 minutes per day. This figure then increased by about 4 minutes in 2006, before dropping back to initially point 4 years later.
Regarding the remaining cities, commuters in Perth spent the same time in their travel from 2002 to 2008, at around one quarter of an hour. Then, the amount of minutes Perth citizens spend on traveling to work saw rapid growth to nearly 33 minutes. Similarly, in the first year of the period, nearly 27 minutes of Brisbane worker was allocated for travelling to work, which was much lower than the figure for Sydney. Afterwards, this city recorded an significant increase to more than 35 minutes 6 years later, before declining minimally to match the Perth’s time in 2010.
