The given graph delineates the changes in the counts of cases in three different crime types in the New Port city downtown over a decade from 2003 to 2012
Overall, the number of incidents of all three types of crime decreased over the ten-year period. Howerer, there was some flactuation in the rates of each type of crime
In early 2003, burglary increased from 3500 to 4000 incidents, before falling sharply to 1200 in 2008, then there was a slight increase to almost 1500 from 2008 to 2009. During the period from 2009 to 2012 the number of incidents remained stable.
Car theft was the second most common crime, starting with about 2008 and ending with almost the same result. During the period given, it remained stable from 2003 to 2005, but then dropped to 2000 in 2006. In the next two years it’s still increase it to 2550 and again decreased to 2000. In 2008, it gradually go up and picked more than 2500. Then there was a slow fell and again reached to about 2750 in the end of the period.
The least common type of crime was robbery, started with about 600 incidents at the beginning and there was a slight increase to about 900 in 2005, but again fell to 500 in 2008. During 2008 to 2010 there was a growth to about 750, but again fell to 600 and then next year the number of incidents stopped at about 750 in 2012
