The line graph depicts the information about the changes that took place in three different areas of crime mainly burglary, car theft and robbery in Newport city centre from 2003 to 2012.
Overall, burglary showed the highest number at the beginning of 2003 and then moved upward moved upward in 2004 then slightly fell downwards in the end of 2012. In contrast, car theft had a dramatic fall and then recovered through the same range and maintained nearly the same level in the end. Moreover, the number of robberies had no significant rise till the end.
In 2003, the number of burglaries showed the highest among all crimes approximately 3500, while iit was followed by car theft with around 3000. Meanwhile, there was robbery done in only above 500 which was the least among all incidents.
From 2004 to 2006, the crime rate rose to higher level and then it fell downward. On the other hand, for car theft and robbery, the crime rates had mostly downfall until 2008. Subsequently the crime rates increased significantly until 2010 to higher rates.
In 2012, there was a notable increase in car theft around 3000, while burglary had a modest downfall to under 1500 and robbery had a little rise over 500 .
