The line chart illustrates the number of robberies, car thefts, and burglaries in the city center of New Port between 2003 and 2012.
Looking at the overall trend, it is clear that burglary declined dramatically and was overtaken by car theft as the most common crime, while robbery remained the least frequent, fluctuating only slightly.
In 2003, burglary was the most widespread crime, at nearly 3,500 cases, peaking at 3,750 the following year. However, the figure then fell sharply to a low of around 1,100 in 2008 and stayed close to this level until 2012. In contrast, car thefts began lower, at about 2,800, dropped to 2,000 over a 3-year period, and then rebounded steadily to their initial level by the end of the timeframe.
Robbery, meanwhile, consistently registered the lowest numbers. It started at just over 500 incidents in 2003 and fluctuated modestly between 500 and 700, finishing at around 700 cases in 2012, without any significant upward or downward movement.
