The bar graph depicts the various degrees carried by males and females after school qualification in Australia in 1999.
Overall, it can be observed that the skilled vocational diploma was the most preferred degree in the male category, while the undergraduate degree was more popular in the female category.
To begin with, most male individuals had a skilled vocational diploma degree, at 90%, which was the highest proportion in the category. It was followed by a postgraduate diploma with 70%. The undergraduate diploma showed the lowest figures in the male category, approximately 35%. This figure was half that of the postgraduate diploma holders.
In the female category, women topped the list with the undergraduate diploma at 70%. It was followed by a bachelor’s degree at 50%. The skilled vocational diploma holders were noticed at the bottom of the list with only 10%. The postgraduate diploma holders (30%) were fewer than the master’s degree holders (40%).
In the postgraduate diploma degree, female holders were at 30%, while male holders were at 70%. Male holders were more than double that of the women’s category.
