The given bar chart illustrates the amount of money spent on three different categories for UK citizens in 2004.
Overall, it can be easily seen that as the age increases, people tended to spend more on food and drink. Furthermore, the figure of entertainment peaked for the age group 61-75 before decreasing for the 76-year-old people.
In terms of food and drink, the figure for the 30-age group started at about 6% and consistently rose with aged, reaching a high of 23% for the 76 or above year olds individuals. Similarly, as the age increases, the spending on entertainment grew gradually, starting at nearly 6% (under 30), and reaching its peak at nearly 23% (61-75 age group). Despite this, the figure dropped significantly to 13% (76 or above age group).
Regarding the figure of restaurant and hotel, nearly 13% of people who aged under 30 spent on this category, which was the highest out of three categories. It decreased steadily to 12% (45-60 age group) before plummeting to only 2% for the 61-75 age group, but then figure bounced back again to about 7% (76+ people), which still was the lowest percentage in comparison to the others.
