The given graph delineates the number of people moving from the countryside to the cities across three countries between 2000 and 2025.
Overall, it is evident that Russia and Iran had the most people leaving the countryside for the cities, with the numbers continuing to increase in the future. Whereas in Indonesia, there has been a steady trend with no remarkable changes.
In 2000, Russia took the lead with just under 20 million people moving from the rural to the urban areas, followed by 10 million people in Iran. The figures for both countries witnessed a sharp increase in the subsequent years; however, Iran will have about 98 million people leaving the countryside for the cities in 2025, surpassing that of Russia by 10 million.
In contrast, Indonesia has seen a progressive upturn in the period of 20 years, starting from 2000. 5 years onwards, the number of people moving from the countryside to the cities is predicted to remain stable at around 30 million people, which represents a huge difference from those in Iran and Russia.
